Import/Export Coordinator - Accrington

Our client is a professional organisation with a busy production / transport / logistics team. They are looking for an experienced Import/Export Coordinator to arrange the international distribution of products for overseas customers, ensuring all products are delivered effectively and meet customer requirements. Responsible for the Coordination of the inbound freight for international raw materials into the facilities.
The salary is competitive and negotiable, dependent upon your skills the company benefits are excellent including generous holidays, pension and healthcare scheme. Onsite subsidised restaurant, free parking and daytime hours Monday – Friday with rotating shift pattern of 6am-2pm and 2pm-10pm
Duties involve:
  • Organising the export processes from start to finish of order to delivery, ensuring all aspects of the process are compliant with export rules and regulations
  • Liaising with 3rd party delivery providers and freight forwarders, managing their service provision, commercial efficiency, and ensuring compliance
  • Managing the entire overseas delivery chain process, adhering to deadlines and timescales  and ensuring a high standard of service
  • Arranging the cubing of trailers to increase efficiency of loading, decreasing financial costs of exporting product
  • Liaising with the Packing team to ensure items can be packaged safe and secure.
  • Organising export bookings, sea/air freight management, documentation required to guarantee the product is accepted and ensure all parties involved have the necessary documentation
  • Liaising with internal and external customers via telephone or email, communicating effectively to ensure all parties understand their role within the process
  • Co-ordinate import freight logistics with providers to ensure smooth, on time and commercially efficient transport of raw material to factories from overseas.
Must Have:
  • Freight forwarding or Logistics experience is ESSENTIAL
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Good knowledge of export regulations, understand what is required for compliance to guarantee exports.
  • Organisation and time management skills to keep all documentation easily accessible
  • Working knowledge of international customs and incoterms standards
